What Is in Your Hand
A bearded Hebrew shepherd grips a wooden staff against a rugged wilderness wall, his head wrapped in desert cloth and his striped mantle gathered over his shoulder. The staff stands upright before him as the central sign of vocation, authority, and obedience.
The composition reflects the moment in Exodus 4:2 when the Lord asks Moses, “What is that in your hand?” The ordinary shepherd’s rod becomes an instrument through which God confirms His call, confronts Pharaoh, and leads Israel toward deliverance. This artwork serves well for teaching on calling, humble obedience, spiritual leadership, and God’s power working through common things surrendered to Him.
