Moses Raises the Staff

Product
Image ID

Description
Moses stands in silhouette on a wilderness ridge, lifting the staff of God above his head against the bright sky. The barren hillside, sparse bush, and solitary prophetic figure evoke the Exodus journey, where God called His servant to lead Israel through impossible places. The raised staff points to divine authority rather than human strength: in Exodus, Moses stretches out his hand and staff as the Lord brings deliverance, and on the hill during Israel’s battle with Amalek, his uplifted hands become a sign of intercession and dependence on God. This artwork serves themes of faith, deliverance, obedience, prayer, and spiritual leadership for sermons, Bible studies, worship backgrounds, and teaching on the Old Testament.

Exodus 14

13 And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.

Exodus 14

15 The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. 16 Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground.

Exodus 17

9 So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose for us men, and go out and fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.” 10 So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.

Numbers 20

11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, and water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.
