About the artwork
The Prodigal Son captures a moment of homecoming from Jesus’ parable. Barefoot and dressed in torn, travel-worn clothing, the son stands on the road with his staff as his aged father runs toward him with open arms. Fields, palms, stone walls, and a distant household frame their meeting.
The son’s lowered posture speaks of repentance, while his father’s eager welcome reflects the mercy and restoration at the heart of the story. In Luke 15:20-24 (ESV), the father sees his son while he is still far away and welcomes him home with joy. The scene offers a reminder of God’s compassionate heart and the grace extended to those who return.
Suited to a church foyer, living room, or office, this artwork invites reflection on forgiveness and the joy of being welcomed home. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
