Description
The Good Samaritan comes upon a beaten man lying helpless on a barren desert road beneath rocky cliffs. The wounded traveler rests on torn cloth in the dust, stripped and injured after being attacked by robbers, while a robed passerby stands near him in the wilderness setting of Jesus’ parable. The scene draws from Luke 10:25-37, where Christ answers the question, “Who is my neighbor?” by showing that true righteousness is revealed through mercy, not social status or religious appearance. The Samaritan’s compassion becomes the living example of neighbor-love: he sees suffering, comes near, binds wounds, and provides costly care. This artwork serves well for teaching on compassion, mercy ministry, outreach, forgiveness, and the command to love one’s neighbor as oneself.
