About the artwork
Moses stands on the rocky heights of Sinai holding the tablets of the covenant, while the Israelites gather below before a golden calf. Hands reach toward the shining idol on its stone altar, torches rise around it, and storm clouds gather over the wilderness mountains.
The Golden Calf Rebellion portrays a moment when the people turned from the Lord who delivered them and fashioned a visible god from their own treasure. Exodus 32:1-6 (ESV) recounts the making of the calf and the worship that followed. The contrast between Moses with the law and the crowd before the idol invites reflection on covenant faithfulness, obedience, and the danger of idolatry.
A thought-provoking choice for a church foyer or office, this artwork can encourage conversations about repentance and the Ten Commandments. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
