About the artwork
The First Missionaries portrays Barnabas and Saul kneeling among the believers as the church at Antioch prays over them. Hands rest on the two men in a solemn act of commissioning, while one leader raises a hand in worship and others bow in prayer.
The scene recalls Acts 13:1-4 (ESV), when the Holy Spirit set Barnabas and Saul apart for missionary service. Their sending speaks to the church’s shared calling to carry the gospel outward, upheld by prayer and obedience. The artwork offers a meaningful reflection on missions, ordination and the sending work of the Holy Spirit.
Displayed in a church foyer, office or living room, this canvas print invites reflection on faith in action and the community that supports those called to serve. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
