About the artwork
The Costly Covering depicts Adam and Eve standing amid the lush greenery of Eden, clothed in garments of skin. Their lowered faces and guarded postures convey the weight of shame after the Fall, while the garden remains around them.
Genesis 3:21 (ESV) tells of God clothing the man and his wife, providing a covering after their disobedience. The scene invites reflection on both the consequences of sin and the mercy shown in God’s provision. It also points to the biblical pattern of covering through sacrifice, offering a starting point for conversations about repentance, atonement, and grace.
A thoughtful choice for a church foyer, office, or living room, this artwork brings a meaningful moment from Genesis into a space for reflection and conversation. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
