About the artwork
In The Call of Discipleship, Jesus extends His hand toward a fisherman who pauses with a net in his hands. Fishing boats, sails and ropes surround them, while other fishermen continue their work along the water. The meeting brings Christ’s call into the midst of ordinary labor.
The scene recalls the Gospel accounts of Jesus calling fishermen to follow Him, including Matthew 4:18-22 (ESV). The boats and nets speak of a familiar livelihood, while the encounter points toward surrender, vocation and a life transformed by discipleship.
Well suited to a church foyer, office or living room, this artwork offers a reminder to consider what it means to follow Christ in daily life. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, the piece arrives ready to hang.
