Storm Over the Hill Country

Product
Image ID
mdaps2012
Description
A wide hill country landscape rises beneath a sweeping sky of heavy storm clouds, with open grassland stretching across the foreground and the horizon held low beneath the weight of the weather. The scene carries the biblical language of creation: hills, heavens, wind, and approaching rain held under the sovereignty of God. Without depicting a named biblical event, the landscape invites reflection on passages where the Lord is praised as Creator, Sustainer, and refuge when the skies darken. It is well suited for church visuals, sermon backgrounds, devotionals, prayer ministry, creation themes, and worship materials focused on trust, providence, endurance, and looking to the Lord beyond the mountains.

Scriptures
Nahum 1:3   Psalm 104:1-4   Psalm 121:1-2   Psalm 65:9-13

Nahum 1

3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Psalm 104

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, 2 covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. 3 He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind; 4 he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 65

9 You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. 10 You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. 11 You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. 12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, 13 the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.
