Sojourner in the Wilderness

An aged Hebrew sojourner stands on a rugged wilderness path, his weathered hands gripping a wooden staff and his cloak gathered for the journey ahead. The barren hills, sparse desert shrubs, and open sky frame him as a traveler who belongs to God more than to the land beneath his feet.

The scene echoes the biblical language of pilgrims and exiles, especially 1 Peter 2:11, where believers are urged to live as “sojourners and exiles” and to resist the desires that wage war against the soul. The staff, road, and wilderness setting speak of dependence, endurance, and holy separation.
