Robber on the Jericho Road

The setting draws from Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan, where a man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho falls among robbers, is beaten, and is left half dead. The weapon and the abandoned victim emphasize the violence that sets the parable in motion before the priest, the Levite, and the Samaritan enter the story. The scene highlights the moral urgency of Luke 10:25-37: the question “Who is my neighbor?” is answered not by social rank or religious identity, but by mercy shown to the suffering.
