Pharaoh’s Chariot in Pursuit

Product
Image ID

Description
An armored charioteer commands dark war horses from an ornate ancient chariot, pressing forward beneath a storm-darkened sky. The close view of reins, armor, harness, and the soldier’s stern posture emphasizes the threat of an advancing army. The subject evokes Pharaoh’s chariots pursuing Israel in the Exodus narrative, where the military power of Egypt bears down on God’s people at the edge of the Red Sea.

In Exodus 14, the chariot becomes a symbol of human force set against the deliverance of the Lord. What appears unstoppable is overturned by divine intervention, teaching that salvation does not rest in weapons, speed, or empire, but in God’s covenant faithfulness. This artwork serves well for sermons, Bible lessons, Exodus studies, deliverance themes, and visual teaching on faith under oppression.

Exodus 14

23 The Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. 24 And in the morning watch the LORD in the pillar of fire and of cloud looked down on the Egyptian forces and threw the Egyptian forces into a panic, 25 clogging their chariot wheels so that they drove heavily. And the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from before Israel, for the LORD fights for them against the Egyptians.”

Exodus 14

6 So he made ready his chariot and took his army with him, 7 and took six hundred chosen chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them. 8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the people of Israel while the people of Israel were going out defiantly. 9 The Egyptians pursued them, all Pharaoh's horses and chariots and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them encamped at the sea, by Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.

Exodus 15

1 Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the LORD, saying, “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. 3 The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name. 4 “Pharaoh's chariots and his host he cast into the sea, and his chosen officers were sunk in the Red Sea.
