Moses Leads Israel Through the Red Sea

Description
Moses stands before the gathered Israelites, raising his staff toward the waters as the people of Israel move through a vast landscape of cliffs, fortified buildings, and gathering storm. The scene portrays the Red Sea crossing, when God delivered the Hebrews from Egypt and opened a path where no human strength could provide one. The dark sky and sweeping distance emphasize the terror of pursuit and the majesty of divine rescue.

The artwork centers on the moment of faith in Exodus: Israel is trapped between Pharaoh’s power and the sea, yet the Lord commands Moses to stretch out his hand. The divided waters become a road of salvation for God’s people and a sign that deliverance belongs to the Lord. This image is well suited for teaching on Exodus, Passover, faith under pressure, redemption, and God’s authority over nations and creation.

Scriptures
Exodus 14:21-22   Exodus 14:29-31   Hebrews 11:29   Psalm 106:9-10

Exodus 14

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 22 And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

Exodus 14

29 But the people of Israel walked on dry ground through the sea, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. 30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. 31 Israel saw the great power that the LORD used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in his servant Moses.

Hebrews 11

29 By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned.

Psalm 106

9 He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry, and he led them through the deep as through a desert. 10 So he saved them from the hand of the foe and redeemed them from the power of the enemy.
