Moses Commissions Joshua

Moses stands at the entrance of the sacred tent and lays his hand upon Joshua, who kneels in reverence before the gathered Israelites. Children and families watch as lambs and offerings are brought forward, placing the moment within the worshiping life of Israel near the tabernacle. The raised hand of Moses and the bowed posture of Joshua mark a solemn transfer of leadership: the servant of the Lord appoints the man who will lead Israel into the promised land. This scene reflects the biblical command in Numbers 27, where God instructs Moses to set Joshua before the congregation and give him authority.
