Cast Out Beyond the City Gate

A rejected man kneels outside a fortified city gate, raising clenched hands and crying out in anguish beside the stone walls. The closed entrance and his posture of distress portray the biblical warning of being cast out, separated from the place of welcome and fellowship. The scene visually echoes Jesus’ sayings about those who see the kingdom from outside yet remain excluded, where there is “weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
