Goat at the Pasture Gate

Product
Image ID

Description
A bearded goat leans over a weathered wooden fence, chewing a blade of grass within a rural enclosure. The close, direct gaze gives the animal a strong presence, making the scene well suited for Christian teaching resources about pastoral life, biblical livestock, offerings, and moral imagery drawn from Scripture.

In the Bible, goats appear in sacrificial worship, the Day of Atonement, and the teaching of Jesus concerning the separation of the sheep from the goats. This image can serve as a visual reference for lessons on atonement, judgment, stewardship, and the everyday agrarian world familiar to biblical audiences.

Leviticus 16

20 “And when he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall present the live goat. 21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. 22 The goat shall bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area, and he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.

Leviticus 4

23 or the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without blemish, 24 and shall lay his hand on the head of the goat and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD; it is a sin offering.

Matthew 25

32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.
