Ezekiel Prophesies Against Tyre

Product

Description
Ezekiel stands on the rocky heights outside the fortified city of Tyre, lifting a prophetic scroll as distressed citizens reach toward him from the gate. The composition frames the prophet apart from the crowd, emphasizing the authority of God’s word over the proud strength of a wealthy coastal city. The walls, towers, and surrounding hills evoke an ancient Near Eastern setting where commerce, power, and human confidence are confronted by divine judgment.

The scene reflects Ezekiel’s oracle against Tyre, where the Lord declares that many nations will come against the city “as the sea causes its waves to come up.” In biblical teaching, Tyre becomes a warning against pride, self-exaltation, and trust in riches. This artwork serves church education, sermon visuals, Bible study materials, and prophetic literature resources focused on repentance, judgment, and the sovereignty of God over nations.

Ezekiel 26

12 They will plunder your riches and loot your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. Your stones and timber and soil they will cast into the midst of the waters. 13 And I will stop the music of your songs, and the sound of your lyres shall be heard no more. 14 I will make you a bare rock. You shall be a place for the spreading of nets. You shall never be rebuilt, for I am the LORD; I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 26

3 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves. 4 They shall destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers, and I will scrape her soil from her and make her a bare rock. 5 She shall be in the midst of the sea a place for the spreading of nets, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD. And she shall become plunder for the nations,

Ezekiel 27

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Now you, son of man, raise a lamentation over Tyre, 3 and say to Tyre, who dwells at the entrances to the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands, thus says the Lord GOD: “O Tyre, you have said, ‘I am perfect in beauty.’

Ezekiel 28

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because your heart is proud, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas,’ yet you are but a man, and no god, though you make your heart like the heart of a god— 3 you are indeed wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you; 4 by your wisdom and your understanding you have made wealth for yourself, and have gathered gold and silver into your treasuries; 5 by your great wisdom in your trade you have increased your wealth, and your heart has become proud in your wealth— 6 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you make your heart like the heart of a god, 7 therefore, behold, I will bring foreigners upon you, the most ruthless of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and defile your splendor. 8 They shall thrust you down into the pit, and you shall die the death of the slain in the heart of the seas.
