Ezekiel in the Valley of Dry Bones

Ezekiel stands upon a dark rise overlooking the valley where scattered bones and rising skeletons fill the ground beneath a storm-laden sky. The prophet’s solitary figure faces the vast field of death as bodies begin to gather and stand, visualizing the vision given by the Lord in Ezekiel 37. In the biblical passage, the dry bones represent the house of Israel in exile, emptied of hope and life. God commands Ezekiel to prophesy, and the bones come together, receive sinews and flesh, and are restored by the breath of God. The scene speaks of divine restoration, resurrection hope, and the power of God’s word to bring life where human strength sees only ruin.
