About the artwork
Behold the Lamb captures John the Baptist standing in the waters of the Jordan, his arm extended toward Jesus on the riverbank. Gathered listeners turn their attention toward the One John is announcing, while others watch from across the water.
John’s gesture gives visual form to his witness to Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. The scene recalls a time of repentance, baptism, and expectation as John prepared the way for the Messiah. John 1:29-34 (ESV) tells of John’s testimony about Jesus and his recognition of Christ’s identity.
A meaningful addition to a church foyer, living room, or office, this print invites reflection on the beginning of the Gospel proclamation and the witness of John. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
