About the artwork
A Solemn Warning depicts Jesus face to face with robed religious leaders, His hand raised as He addresses them. Their fearful expressions contrast with His calm authority, while flames and shadowed figures behind them evoke the gravity of judgment.
The scene recalls Christ’s rebukes of religious hypocrisy and outward righteousness without repentance. Matthew 23:23-28 (ESV) speaks to the danger of attending to appearances while neglecting what matters within. The fire points to the biblical warning of Gehenna, inviting reflection on accountability and the consequences of rejecting God’s truth.
Suited to a church foyer or office, this artwork offers a thought-provoking reminder of the searching holiness of Christ’s words. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
