Wildflowers Above the Sea Cliffs

Description
Pink sea thrift blooms in the foreground above a rugged coastal cliff, where layered stone descends to tide-worn rock shelves and a calm expanse of sea. The open horizon, weathered headland, and flowering grass together present a quiet witness to God’s creation: fragile blossoms rooted beside enduring rock, land meeting water under a wide sky. The scene carries strong devotional symbolism for creation care, contemplation, retreat ministry, and worship themes drawn from the Psalms, where the sea and dry land belong to the Lord. The contrast between delicate coastal flowers and ancient cliffs evokes providence, steadfastness, and the Creator’s attentive care for even the smallest living things.

Scriptures
Genesis 1:9-12   Matthew 6:28-30   Psalm 104:24-25   Psalm 95:5

Genesis 1

9 And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Matthew 6

28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Psalm 104

24 O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. 25 Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great.
