Wilderness Hills and Weathered Fence

Arid hills rise beyond a weathered fence line, where dry grasses, hardy shrubs, and a solitary spreading tree stand beneath a wide cloud-filled sky. The rugged landscape evokes the biblical wilderness: a place of testing, waiting, provision, and encounter with God. In Scripture, desert terrain often frames seasons of dependence, from Israel’s journey through barren places to prophetic promises that the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. The lifted hills also call to mind the psalmist’s confession, “I lift up my eyes to the hills,” directing worshipers beyond the land itself to the Lord who keeps His people.
