Throne of Ancient Egypt

Product
Image ID

Description
An ornate Egyptian royal throne stands with carved lion heads on the arm fronts, tall decorated back panels, and intricate emblems that evoke the authority and splendor of the ancient Nile courts. The elevated seat, animal guardians, and ceremonial ornamentation present the throne as a symbol of earthly dominion, judgment, wealth, and dynastic power.

For biblical catalog use, this subject supports themes from Joseph in Egypt, the courts of Pharaoh, and the Exodus narrative, where God’s covenant purposes unfold in the shadow of imperial authority. The empty throne can serve as a visual emblem of human rule contrasted with the sovereignty of the Lord, useful for teaching on Genesis, Exodus, kingship, pride, providence, and deliverance.

Exodus 5

1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went and said to Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.’” 2 But Pharaoh said, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and moreover, I will not let Israel go.”

Exodus 7

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. 11 Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, and they, the magicians of Egypt, also did the same by their secret arts. 12 For each man cast down his staff, and they became serpents. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs. 13 Still Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

Genesis 41

40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.”

Genesis 41

41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain about his neck. 43 And he made him ride in his second chariot. And they called out before him, “Bow the knee!” Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt.
