Description
Samson lies lifeless among shattered stones after pulling down the Philistine temple, his powerful body stretched across the ruins while grieving relatives gather in solemn mourning. The broken masonry, fallen pottery, and shadowed opening frame the aftermath of the judge’s final act against the enemies of Israel. In the biblical account, Samson prays for strength one last time, brings the house down upon the Philistine rulers, and is later taken by his family for burial. The scene emphasizes both judgment and tragedy: a consecrated man whose strength was restored in death, and a family left to bear the cost of his calling and failure.
