The Crowd Glorifies the God of Israel

Jesus stands in a rugged wilderness place with a shepherd’s staff raised beside a rejoicing Israelite woman, while men, women, and children lift their hands in praise behind them. The rocky hillside and woven mat suggest a humble outdoor gathering where the suffering have come near and the people respond with public worship. The scene reflects Matthew 15:30-31, when great crowds came to Jesus bringing the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and many others, and He healed them. Their astonishment becomes doxology: the works of mercy reveal the authority of the Messiah and lead the crowd to glorify the God of Israel.
