Teacher and Disciple on the Hillside

Jesus and a disciple sit on a rocky Judean hillside in a quiet moment of instruction and rest. One man leans forward and points to the dust as if tracing a lesson into the ground, while the other listens beside a wooden staff, wrapped in the travel garments of an ancient Israelite. The wilderness setting evokes the roads, hills, and remote places where Jesus often withdrew with His followers, teaching them privately and forming them through conversation as well as proclamation.
