1 Thessalonians 4

16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5

2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

Acts 1

10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Luke 21

25 “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves,26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken.27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Matthew 16

27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Matthew 24

44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Matthew 25

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

1 Chronicles 1

7 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.7 He conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest. And they followed Adonijah and helped him.7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.7 So it went on year by year. As often as she went up to the house of the Lord, she used to provoke her. Therefore Hannah wept and would not eat.7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.7 In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”7 Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.7 He said to them, “What kind of man was he who came to meet you and told you these things?”7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.7 “And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called to me. And I answered, ‘Here I am.’7 and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.7 For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles.7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.7 “So I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds.7 just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.7 “‘Turn and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all their neighbors in the Arabah, in the hill country and in the lowland and in the Negeb and by the seacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.7 All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,7 Drinks were served in golden vessels, vessels of different kinds, and the royal wine was lavished according to the bounty of the king.7 But the people of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them.7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf’s foot. And they sparkled like burnished bronze.7 Cyrus the king also brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord that Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his gods.7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.7 And God made the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so.7 “They are dreaded and fearsome; their justice and dignity go forth from themselves.7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways.7 Of the angels he says, “He makes his angels winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.”7 “But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the Lord their God. I will not save them by bow or by sword or by war or by horses or by horsemen.”7 Your country lies desolate; your cities are burned with fire; in your very presence foreigners devour your land; it is desolate, as overthrown by foreigners.7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.7 The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”7 It has laid waste my vine and splintered my fig tree; it has stripped off their bark and thrown it down; their branches are made white.7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.7 And they said to one another, “Come, let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.7 “Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.7 And Adoni-bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and their big toes cut off used to pick up scraps under my table. As I have done, so God has repaid me.” And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.7 Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and wandering all the precious things that were hers from days of old. When her people fell into the hand of the foe, and there was none to help her, her foes gloated over her; they mocked at her downfall.7 “and the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were advanced in years.7 “By offering polluted food upon my altar. But you say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ By saying that the Lord ’s table may be despised.7 And he preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.7 and Solomon the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa,7 All her carved images shall be beaten to pieces, all her wages shall be burned with fire, and all her idols I will lay waste, for from the fee of a prostitute she gathered them, and to the fee of a prostitute they shall return.7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.7 “We have acted very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules that you commanded your servant Moses.7 “from Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;7 All your allies have driven you to your border; those at peace with you have deceived you; they have prevailed against you; those who eat your bread have set a trap beneath you— you have no understanding.7 For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.7 It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.7 To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.7 So she set out from the place where she was with her two daughters-in-law, and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah.7 Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where you pasture your flock, where you make it lie down at noon; for why should I be like one who veils herself beside the flocks of your companions?7 For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain,7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, son of Iddo, saying,7 Be silent before the Lord God ! For the day of the Lord is near; the Lord has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated his guests.
