Pharaoh’s Daughter Finds Moses

Pharaoh’s daughter cradles the rescued infant Moses beside the river, holding him close after discovering him among the reeds. Hidden in the tall river grass, young Miriam watches carefully, ready to speak and arrange for the Hebrew child to be nursed by his own mother. The Nile setting, papyrus reeds, royal adornment, and tender embrace place the scene in the opening of Moses’ life, when God preserved Israel’s future deliverer under the very roof of Egypt’s ruler.

The moment reflects Exodus 2: human compassion becomes the instrument of divine providence. Pharaoh’s decree threatened Hebrew sons, yet the Lord turned a princess’s pity and a sister’s courage into protection for the child who would later lead the Exodus.
