Moonrise Over the Mountains

Product

Description
A radiant full moon hangs above a dark mountain range, casting quiet light across the rugged horizon. The stillness of the high places evokes the biblical language of creation, where the greater and lesser lights mark seasons, days, and nights under the sovereignty of God. The mountains also call to mind Psalm 121, where the psalmist lifts his eyes to the hills and confesses that help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth. This contemplative landscape serves well for worship backgrounds, sermon graphics, creation themes, prayer resources, and devotional reflections on God’s watchful presence through the night.

Scriptures
Genesis 1:14-18   Psalm 121:1-2   Psalm 136:7-9   Psalm 8:3-4

Genesis 1

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 136

7 to him who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever; 8 the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever; 9 the moon and stars to rule over the night, for his steadfast love endures forever;

Psalm 8

3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
