Description
Mary and Elizabeth meet face to face in a tender greeting, their hands clasped as they recognize God’s work unfolding between them. The younger Mary, veiled in pale garments, looks to Elizabeth with reverence and trust, while Elizabeth receives her with joyful understanding. The scene portrays the Visitation, when Mary traveled to the hill country of Judah after the angel’s announcement and entered the house of Zechariah. At Mary’s greeting, the child in Elizabeth’s womb leaped, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, blessing Mary as the mother of the Lord. This artwork emphasizes holy fellowship, faithful women, and the first human recognition of Christ’s coming in the womb. It is well suited for Advent, women’s ministry, pro-life teaching, Bible study on Luke 1, and themes of blessing, obedience, and Spirit-filled joy.

Luke 1

39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, 40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

Luke 1

Ruth 1

16 But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the LORD do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.” 18 And when Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more.
