Manasseh Humbled in Prison

Description
King Manasseh lies chained on the floor of a stone prison, his face buried in grief beside the dark wall and barred window. His royal garments contrast with the iron chain at his wrist, showing the humiliation of a king brought low by judgment. The scene reflects the account in 2 Chronicles 33, where Manasseh of Judah was taken captive by the Assyrians, bound in chains, and carried away to Babylon. In his distress he humbled himself before the Lord, and God heard his prayer. The artwork emphasizes repentance after rebellion: earthly power cannot shield a heart from correction, yet sincere humility opens the way for mercy and restoration.
