Jesus Turns Sorrow Into Joy
Jesus stands among a gathered group of Israelites on a rugged Judean hillside as a man lifts both hands in open rejoicing. Men, women, and children surround Him in attentive worship, their raised hands and turned faces showing a shared response to His words. The rocky wilderness setting gives the moment the character of a traveling ministry scene, where Christ teaches, comforts, and calls ordinary people into the joy of the Kingdom.
The scene reflects the promise of John 16:20-22, where Jesus tells His disciples that their sorrow will be turned into joy and that no one will take that joy from them. The lifted hands and gathered community visually express that transformation: grief answered by Christ’s presence, lament giving way to worship, and disciples receiving hope from the words of the Lord.
