Jesus had just been up all night, had been beaten and mocked, and was exhausted. As Jesus walks down the narrow streets of Jerusalem, a large number of people follow Him, including women who mourn and wail for Him.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.
