Jesus Bears the Cross Toward Golgotha

Product
Image ID
ebsps0186
Description
Jesus struggles beneath the heavy beam of the cross on a rocky road outside the city, His body wounded and bent under the weight of the coming crucifixion. A Roman soldier stands in the foreground with spear and armor, controlling the procession, while robed onlookers and religious figures follow behind. The barren hills and open sky frame the solemn journey toward Golgotha, the Place of the Skull.

The scene reflects the Passion narrative in which Christ goes out bearing His own cross, fulfilling the path of obedient suffering before His death at Calvary. The cross is both an instrument of execution and the sign of redemption, showing the cost of sin and the depth of divine love. This artwork serves well for Holy Week, Good Friday, sermon visuals, Passion studies, and church materials focused on sacrifice, atonement, and discipleship.
