About the artwork

Jesus and Soldier by Erik Stenbakken portrays Jesus in the moments before crucifixion. Wearing a crown of thorns and bearing visible wounds, He stands before a soldier as the cross rises behind them, bringing the cost of His sacrifice into immediate view.

The scene reflects the suffering and surrender at the heart of the Passion story. Luke 23 (ESV) recounts the events surrounding Jesus’ crucifixion, inviting contemplation of His steadfast love, mercy, and willing sacrifice.

This reverent Christian artwork offers a powerful focal point for a living room, church foyer, or office. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
