Grass of the Field

Product
Image ID

Description
Tall blades of field grass press together in a close, contemplative view, turning an ordinary patch of growth into a meditation on Scripture’s language of creation, frailty, and trust. The scene calls to mind the biblical image of the grass of the field: life springs up, flourishes for a season, and then fades, while the word and care of God endure. In passages such as Isaiah 40 and 1 Peter 1, grass becomes a sober reminder of human mortality; in Matthew 6, it becomes a witness to the Father’s provision. This artwork serves well for sermon themes on spiritual growth, harvest, humility, creation care, and the enduring promises of God.

Scriptures
1 Peter 1:24-25   Isaiah 40:6-8   James 1:10-11   Matthew 6:28-30

1 Peter 1

24 for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

Isaiah 40

6 A voice says, “Cry!” And I said, “What shall I cry?” All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. 7 The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the LORD blows on it; surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

James 1

10 and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass he will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

Matthew 6

28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
