About the artwork

Darrel Tank’s Face of Jesus Looking over Shoulder While on Cross offers an intimate portrayal of Jesus during the crucifixion. His face turns over His shoulder beneath a crown of thorns, with the wood of the cross close beside Him.

The work invites quiet reflection on Christ’s suffering, humility, and sacrificial love. The crown of thorns recalls the mocking treatment Jesus received before the crucifixion, as recorded in John 19:2 (ESV), while the cross points believers toward the depth of His saving sacrifice.

Well suited to a church foyer or personal office, this Christian canvas print creates a solemn focal point for prayer and contemplation. Printed on archival canvas with mirror-wrapped edges, it arrives ready to hang.
