Crown of Thorns Over the Watching Eye

Product
Image ID
rwbas0027
Description
A crown of thorns encircles a single watching eye at the center of a structured geometric field, joining the signs of Christ’s suffering with the searching gaze of divine witness. The thorns recall the mock coronation of Jesus, when soldiers pressed a crown upon His head before the crucifixion, turning an instrument of cruelty into a sign of the true King’s sacrificial reign. The central eye gives the composition a prophetic, contemplative force: the suffering Christ sees the world clearly, bearing human sin while remaining Lord over history. This artwork speaks to themes of atonement, Passiontide, Good Friday, spiritual watchfulness, and the cost of redemption.
