Abraham's Journey of Faith

Abraham walks through the open hill country with a wooden staff in his hand and a lamb gathered close at his side. His aged face, wrapped head covering, and traveler’s garments present him as the faithful patriarch who left familiar ground at the command of God. The lamb evokes the pastoral life of the ancient fathers and the covenant promises carried through Abraham’s household and descendants.

The scene reflects the call of Abraham in Genesis 12 and the testimony of Hebrews 11:8: by faith he obeyed and went out, not knowing where he was going.
